Vintage pedal push scooters vespa lambretta toys

Here’s a whole slew of beautiful vintage pedal and push scooters for some heavy duty ogling.

Felted felting Scooters Vespa Crafts

So the Cute Bunnies and Kitties Scooter Club had a craft night recently and we made (or in my case attempted to make) some felted scooters like the pink one Nicole made. ScooterSwag’s regular contributor Cassie was an overachiever. Not only did she make a scooter in about an hour’s time but added a kitty rider made from hair she brushed off her cats and some whiskers she had saved. I was still trying to get a basic scooter shape after about two hours time and sorta added one tire.

Curious what’s involved in felting? Here’s a video showing the basics.

Disney Marx Scooter Vespa Collection Goofy Pluto Donald Duck

Spotted in the Vancouver BC (Canada) airport, these are from a collection of Disneyana on display there. No Mickey scooters unfortunately, but hey we’ve got Goofy, Pluto and Donald Duck in the house.

Thanks to Shazza for these great pics!

Vintage Scooter Matchbook Matchbox Match Covers

Here are some vintage matchbook or matchbox covers for your visual enjoyment. Most of these are from Hungary. I am still looking for some of those wacky Indian examples with a scooter or two.

Solar Powered Flip Flap Flapper Scooter Vespa Mod

This gadget is so ridiculous it just makes me laugh. It’s based on the flip flopping solar powered flowers that you can put in your window if want your house to be more Pee Wee Herman Playhouse-like. Here’s a video if you still can’t picture these things. Be forewarned — watching them is mesmerizing. What I remember from my own childhood were “drinking birds” which were in their own way solar powered too.

In any case, it’s cheap as chips at £4.75. You can order it from Cosmic Gift’s eBay shop here .

Thanks to Blackie of the Woolybacks SC (North Yorkshire) for this find!

Dead Ahead Video Game Vespa Scooter iPhone iPad

I’m not a gamer so I am useless as to whether this is a cool Apple app or not. But it’s FREE so why not give it a try?

And in the meantime I will give you this hilarious review from bunchofgamers.com :

“Colour me excited … Dead Ahead isn’t even a runner, as it gives you increasingly awesome transportation methods and releases you in one of the zombie-infested areas of a city, with a clear direction to move to the right, destroying as many empty shells of human beings on your way, as possible – it’s not hugely different from driving in my suburbs, really … The controls are really simple: just slide your finger upwards and downwards on the right side of the screen and your hero will drive accordingly, evading obstacles and hitting zombies – if you’re fast enough, of course. This would already be an awesome idea, but to add fuel to the fire, you are also constantly being chased by zombies that are so eager to munch on your insides that they get completely oblivious to their surroundings, just like rabid kittens.”

Ooh that last picture is scary. So glad I don’t have to outrun that hoard on my 3 speed VBA.

This app will work on iPhone 3GS to iPhone 5, 3rd to 5th Gen iPod Touch and on iPads. Requires iOS 4.3 or later. Here’s a link to download the app for the iPhone.

Thanks to Louisa L. for this find!

Tour du monde en Vespa Italian Board Game

Here’s a vintage board game with the most incredible playing pieces. Anyone speak Italian?

Scooter Vespa Figurine

Couldn’t find out anything about the artist or whether this figurine is based on a comic book character. Anybody out there know? E-Mail us at tips (at) scooterswag.com.

The figurine number is NEM9952. It has a lot of detail as it’s hand painted. Measuring approximately 20cm long x 16.5cm tall X 10.5cm wide the figurine also comes in its own presentation box.

Scooter-Vespa-Lambretta-Magnets-Metal-Signs

This is one dangerous site. Retroplanet.com has way too much scooter stuff all packed into it with reasonable prices. You can order tin signs as well as magnets for both Lambretta and Vespa. Prices range from $3.99 to $19.99. To see all their scooter stuff, click here.

Decor Craft Scooter Bicycle Vespa Coffee Travel Cup Mug

Here’s a re-usable double walled ceramic cup with silicone lid. It’s both dishwasher and microwave safe and holds 12 fl oz. Made by Decor Craft Inc. and can be ordered here for $14.50.

Swagger Glen B. reports that the silicone lid is nice because “your coffee won’t taste plasticy.”
