Spotted in a discount department store, this backpack has it all — a scooter, a cat and lots and lots of sparkles. If you live in Florida, you may be able to get your paws on one.

We’ve posted about “I See By My Outfit” by Peter Beagle before. It’s about two beatniks who go cross country on Heinkels and it’s a great read. It’s easy to find a reprint but not so easy to find the more vintage paperback copies with the scooters on the cover art. Here are two of the better examples.

Prices range from $18.99 to $44.99.

Thanks to Heather M. for these finds!

Earlier this week I had fun visiting with my friend Steve on the US Adidas campus in Portland, OR. He’s a sportswear designer and scooterist and just flashed his badge to be ushered into the golden temple of goodness and discounts. He pointed out all the new gear that’s come out from the Adidas-Vespa mash-up which apparently was not just a one season thing – good news for us! (Thanks Steve. That was fun.)

From the ultra hip online shop “Girls Can Tell,” Philadelphia artist Sara Selepouchin draws careful but charming diagrams of some of the more fetishized technology like cameras, airplanes and of course two-stroke scooters. Then she carefully screen prints them on a variety of objects. Her scooter design is available on bags, coasters, and even printed on a vintage book page as frameable art.

Thanks to Cassie for these great finds.

NEWS FLASH – Sara got in touch with us and her oven mitt ($14) is no longer out of stock! And it’s available in black and red. See the revised link below:

Good news: Adidas has added some new shoes, bags, and other good stuff to their Vespa line.

Bad news: No two countries have the same things. The UK gets the bags, the US gets the shoes.

So the best thing to do is type “Vespa” in the Adidas stores’ search field to see everything on offer at your online store:
