Collector’s Corner: Damion in the UK

Not since Rickie Starr’s collection have I seen such variety. Damion Fields is in Lowestoft, Suffolk on the East Coast of England about 5 minutes from the sea front. He has a 1976 Rally 200 and a 1958 Douglas Vespa. But of course it’s his little toys we care about here! Yes that’s a squeeze toy Panda on a Vespa. Never ever to be chewed by a dog I’m sure! Somehow I had forgotten all about this sassy Brit and his way with American girls. Not sure that he’s riding a scooter though? Isn’t that a moped? Help me out here people. According to Wikipedia:

“Swing with Scooter was a DC Comics comicbook published from mid 1966 up to the early 1970s.
The protagonist, Scooter, was a British teenage musician. His nickname came from the scooter that he used as a vehicle. The book was an attempt at drawing upon the teenage light drama market that is usually served by Archie comics and similar titles.”

Cassie discovered Fat Kitty Falafel and I finally made it over to get a photo with this Portland, Oregon food cart on a glorious (finally!) Spring Thursday. Don’t know about where you live but Portland has become food cart central and it’s awesome. The cost of starting up a restaurant has gotten so prohibitive and this way check can strut their stuff without wrecking their credit.

Sitting on my 1960 VBA is the owner of Fat Kitty Falafel, the wonderful Al Herre. And he promises we’ll be some of the first to know when he prints some more t-shirts.
