Work your scooter ‘stache! Found on etsy.com, the creator is now all out of these little combs she reclaimed from the 80s. I think this very well may be the weirdest thing ever posted on ScooterSwag. ((Patting self on back.))

Thanks to Julie G. for this find!

From Ikea’s bedding line, this duvet cover and pillow slips are called “Eivor Leava”. The sizes are twin, king, full/queen and the set is $49.99. According to Ikea’s site, the inspiration for this comforter came from “Sweden’s rich tradition of using textiles as a means of storytelling.” By the way, “Leva” means “to live” in Swedish.

Thanks to Aleks H. for the photo and the find!

Both Old Navy and Gap have been very scooter friendly when it comes to t-shirts. Apparently they are also friendly to both the vintage vs. new scooter camps and the cats vs. dogs tribes. Both of the shirts shown here have shown up recently in their kids departments. So it’s always worth a perusal of the sales racks if you’re in their stores.

The top shirt is being modeled by Babette S’s daughter and was found at Old Navy. (Thanks for the photos Babette!) The bottom shirt is from Gap kids. They both feature 3-D elements (the flowers on the riders’ heads) as well as lots and lots of sparkles. Sorry, but neither is available online so keep your eyes peeled!

I would love to get rid of the ugly Ad Sense banner ads on top of my blog and replace it with something actually pertinent to our interests. So do you own a scooter shop? Have something you’d like to advertise? Then let me know. Send me an idea and I can send you a quote for how much it would cost. (E-mail me at tips AT scooterswag.com) I can even help you write and design a banner ad for your company. I have Google Analytics reports I can forward on but just as a ballpark figure, ScooterSwag has over 1,000 unique visitors per week !

Some recent ads I’ve come across featuring scooters . . .

This Tom & Jerry toy was made by Marx in 1970 and sold for $165 recently on eBay! You can see other Marx scooter toys we’ve featured on Scooter Swag here . A quick look on YouTube didn’t reveal any cartoons with Tom & Jerry on a scooter. But here’s this as a consolation prize:

Yogi Bear on a scooter.

“Big Mac Tonight” was a popular McDonalds campaign in the late 80s with a crooning moon singing the praises of their menu. These “Happy Meal” toys do come available on eBay every now and then.
