October 2011

Here are some scooter pumpkins for you. Watch out for those wet leaves now, ya hear?

This was in a recent eBay auction and since I’m American, I had no idea there was such a thing as a Sooty or a Sweep. I am a bit more educated now. It was a popular kids show in the UK in the 70s. Sooty is the bear and Sweep is the dog. There is also a rare Marx made friction toy out there. And I even found a YouTube video of the show for you (sans scooter . . . sigh):

Watch yourself some Sooty and Sweep

This scooter wall art was recently spotted at a “HomeGoods” store which I hear is part of the TJ Maxx/Marshalls chain stores here in the States. It’s priced at $19.99.

Thanks to Karen J. for this find.

Dear Scooterswaggers,

Sorry you got almost no posts in the month of October. This will be quickly remedied. I have my excuses but they’re not very interesting or unique so I will spare you. ; )

Love,
Tracy

This letterpress printed scooter pop-up was used to promote “Los Vesparados” – a scooter themed art show in Minneapolis circa 2009. By folding it together, you could have your very own paper scooter to ride around on your desk. Must have cost a fortune to do but oh was it worth it.

The art work and design was created by illustrator/photographer/designer Sean Tubridy:
