Here’s a comic book that sometimes shows up on Amazon or eBay. And yes there was really a series of cartoons with the Wolf and Red like this one.
Thanks to Thomas C. for this find!

Ah bliss! When I first started seeing the adorable ride on toy suitcases at the airport I just knew that it wouldn’t be long before there would be a scooter. It was inevitable.
So here is the “Diggin Skootcase” that comes in blue and pink. It measures 15.8 x 18.5 x 8.1 inches and weighs in at 6.6 pounds. It fits in overhead compartments, can be ridden or carried on a shoulder strap and is so cute it makes my teeth hurt. And although it’s meant for kids, I can predict more than a few scooter girls will want to rock these at out of town rallies. $69 at Amazon with Free Shipping.

Be sure to watch the video of the little boy and girl having a brief romance on their scooter suitcases. Shows all the suitcases’ neat tricks and is just very well done. Almost makes me wish I was wee:
Chris Gilmour is a UK artist based in Udine, Italy and who makes highly detailed 1:1 scale paper sculptures. We’ve featured his other scooter-related work before. But this Vespa Taxi was somehow missed. You can visit his site below to see his other works and read read a write-up from those super cool people at SIP:
Cindy Bear is a Hanna-Barbera cartoon character and is Yogi Bear’s Southern Belle girlfriend. This is a toy from a 1991 McDonalds Happy Meal toy and measures 2 7/8″ tall and has a (ahem) friction motor ! I can’t even imagine any of the Happy Meal toys coming out today having anything so cool. Or maybe I’m just being a grumpy ol’ stick in the mud. Anyhoo, they’ve taken down the link to see her boyfriend steal and then terrorize the park on a scooter in the cartoon “Scooter Looter” but more intrepid folks will be able to find it and watch it somehow.
Which one do you like best?
First up we have a natural fiber pillow with a rustic screen print. You can choose from two different fabrics and the also team it up with other vehicle designs. It measures approximately 16″ X 16″ and is £23. Thanks to retrotogo.com for this find.
Choice two is a blue and green French pillow that reverses to a smaller print of the same scooter on the other side. It’s 100% cotton and measures approximately 34 X 24 cm. It costs €30.
Do you need a figurine of Santa Claus delivering prezzies on a red Vespa that plays 8 different Christmas favorites? That’s for you to decide. Oh did I mention there are fur accents and the headlight lights up? We featured this guy back earlier this year in “Rare Swag” but now I have found two sources: Amazon and “The Alpine Christmas Outlet” which offer him up anywhere from $69.99 on Amazon to $75.95 with free shipping at Alpine.
Dimensions: 10.5″H x 10.5″W x 4.5″D

I finally found a reliable online source for this great pizza cutter and wouldn’t you know it — they’re temporarily out of stock. Ah well, Amazon says you can order now and they’ll send one out soon. In any case, at $8, what a great stocking stuffer! The wheels are stainless steel and it measures 6.8 x 0.8 x 4.5″ and stands on its own with a center stand for display. Pretty nifty.
Here are some wine choices that come in “red, white and pink scooter.” We’ve featured Villa Bellangelo’s wines before. These sweeter wines come in 1.5 liter pouches are the equivalent of 2 ordinary wine bottles. Most states in the US can order either from the Bellangelo site or from VinoShipper for around $16.99 (not including shipping.) If anyone sees these at a major retailer, please let us know!
Chloé Fleury is a French illustrator who fell in love with California when she was 10.
(Ironic since this about the age little American girls fall in love with Paris. Grass is always greener, eh?)
She now lives in San Francisco and her clients include Cosmopolitan Magazine, Chronicle Books, Condé Nast Traveler Magazine and Target stores. Her specialty is cut paper art which she incorporates into stop motion animation, graphic design and window displays.
You can buy limited edition posters of the work shown here. “Summer Shopping” is $115 and “Happy Fall” is $150. They are giclée prints of photographs of the paper sculpture work and are signed by the artist in the back.
