This pin is vintage 1950s. The name “Rei Tim Winkl” is a village in the German highlands where tourists visit and mountain roads await. No doubt this couple depicted a summer only activity.

An interesting pin that appeared on eBay that I hadn’t come across before. No apparent markings were listed.

Vintage Filigree Vespa Scooter Brooch
This small silver gilt and enamel filigree piece recently appeared on eBay. It could be worn as a pin but could also stand on its own as a miniature.

A Vespa VB-1 brooch
Spotted on eBay awhile back this French Brooch looks like a VB-1 with a rhinestone as its headlight. Very clever! It looks like it was painted at one time. I rather like it as bare metal.

Ah, small blast from this past summer. Here are two pieces from the Lambretta Jamboree, the US’s largest vintage Lambretta rally. There were only 200 or so made of the pin on the left.

Mickey & Minnie Sittin’ In A Tree . . .
This limited edition pin features Mickey and Minnie on a scooter. The scooter is a “slider element” which can be moved along the front of the background. Pretty cute for $8.95!

This Week’s Rare Bit O’Swag:
Celluloid Vespa Brooch
I picked this up for very cheap on eBay from a European seller. It’s about the size of a half dollar and is very detailed for it’s size. It doesn’t have any markings on the back but almost looks like a mass produced item ready to be imprinted with the name of a scooter club or event on the bottom. Anyone else seen any of these? Dario Scooter & Cat Brooch
The front of this scooter says “Vespa” but the back end is more Honda Elite. Oh and unless that’s a small panther stuffed in the back of that basket, no house cat’s head is that big. And I have seen some enormous house cats in my time. In any case, what a rare brooch! It measures a whopping 2″ long and is marked “Dario” on the back.
And just to make you all incredibly jealous, I got this on eBay for $6.50. With shipping.
