We’ve featured Kiddimoto scooters before on ScooterSwag but now we’ve got a new US source for them. This balance toy is made of sustainable birch plywood, with real, inflated pneumatic tires, soft hand-grips, a kickstand, and footboards. With it’s foot petals it’s a great toy to prep for a bicycle. The measurements are approximately L 36.22†W 14.96†H 20.47†and it costs around $95.00.
Be sure to watch the video link above. The Fisher-Price EZ Turn Scooter can spin in a complete circle. (That’s doing a doughnut in midwestern parlance.) This toy also works well on carpet or hardwood floors. Measures 20.6 x 10.5 x 13.8 inches and is best for ages 12-36 months. $27 at Amazon.
Thanks to Julie G for this find!
Here’s a heirloom worthy wooden scooter from traditional French toy maker Janod. Unlike other wooden toy scooters we have featured, this one has a lot more gorgeous details like a pretend headlight, painted chrome trim and a speedo! This one also seems to be more adjustable for growing kids. The idea behind balance toys like this is to help children learn coordination skills and prep them for bicycle riding. So it’s like training wheels for training wheels. The Janod is lightweight (8.9 lbs.), measures 30.3 x 13.2 x 20.1 inches and features inflatable tires and adjustable seat. It comes in “mint” and “vanilla” colors and is on sale at Amazon for $89.95. Sorry but the chicken is not included. (I know! That makes me sad too.)
Thanks to Julie G. for the photos and the find!
