Spotted this very cute fabric while browsing for something else. The world’s favorite cities and their sites are featured including the Eiffel Tower, the Coliseum, Big Ben, the Sydney Opera House, and the Golden Gate Bridge among others. Also featured are the means for travel like a car, helicopter, plane, bike, and yes a scooter. For scale purposes: The Eiffel Tower is about 2.5″ tall. Made by “Timeless Treasures” a half yard is priced at $10.25. And while you’re on the site, type in “scooter” in the search engine to see all of their other choices.

Where’s
Merry Christmoose!
Shown here is ScooterSwag’s very first moose on scooter. (Pardon us, but this is a big moment.) The fabric is made by Hoffman, is 100% cotton, and retails for around $9 a yard.

A Hope Chest?
We’ve already featured Ikea’s Eivor Leva pattern in the bedding set but you can also buy the same fabric but with a black ground. (Which I think I like better.) I spotted this idea for covering a chest of drawers in the fabric in the latest Ikea catalog. That seems like a ton of frustrating work to me but then I may not be crafty enough.
All two wheels are good!
Here’s a fabric that does not discriminate between motorized and non-motorized summer fun. Called “Go by bike” it’s designed by Jessica Hogarth and is $9.25 a yard.

“Goin’ Places” Scooter Fabric
We featured other designs of this fabric but at the time I didn’t realize how many there were! There are several designs and several color choices so click below to see them all. The official name of this line is “Now We’re Goin Places” by Timeless Treasures and it retails for around $6.99 a yard.
Not sure who to credit with this find: let me know!
To be released in April?:
Mod Squad Fabrics
Dan Stiles is a very talented designer and illustrator located here in Portland, Oregon. Known for everything from show posters to cool corporate work, he’s lent his hand at designing some fabric featuring our favorite mode of transport. It was to be released early this year but it’s still a bit hard to find on the web. In any case I wanted to give y’all a heads up to mark your calendars and keep a keen lookout.

News Break: Susie Bright loves scooters!
I always cherish it when two or more of my favorite things mash-up together. A prime example of this would be when Susie Bright, scooters and cats all came together in a beautiful collision. Susie Bright, for those who don’t know, is a sex educator and columnist. And she’s my all time favorite. (Dan Savage – you’re a close number 2.) She’s currently on a book tour for her memoir entitled “Big Sex, Little Death”
Anyhoo she came to Portland, Oregon and after corresponding with her for several years via e-mail, I got to sit down with her at a brunch at Bitch Magazine and chat a bit. She asked if I would get her coat from inside and that’s when I noticed that the cuffs and collar featured cats riding scooters. I squealed quite loudly and the photo above is the result.
Thanks Susie for sending it! The fabric is hard to find now, but diligent readers will be able to get a hold of a yard or two here and there. Good luck!
Your very own highway system!
Finally, you can make your own playmats complete with scooters. I have looked in vain for scooters on theme rugs and puzzles, but finally you can at least buy the fabric. The first is more of a matchbox car race track, the second, called “tossed transportation” would make a great bedspread. The fabric series is called “Going Places” and sells for $8.40 a yard. (They recommend you buy 30″ to get the complete scene.)

More Monaluna Scooter Fabric!
Just last week we posted about some adorable Monaluna fabric with just scooters. This time it’s scooters (Fuji Rabbit-ish?), some bicycles, maybe some Mobylettes and some gorgeous tail fins. Very Vroomy!
